Riverland traffic offences

Murray Mallee Police detected the following traffic offences over the weekend including the following in the Riverland.

On Sunday 22 February, Loxton Police stopped a vehicle on Browns Well Highway for a mobile driver test.  The driver, a 68-year-old Loxton man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.119.  He was reported for drink driving, issued with a six-month loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court.

On Sunday, Berri Police spotted an unlicensed driver on Hoskin Road, Berri.  They stopped the vehicle and a search allegedly uncovered drugs, drug equipment and ammunition in the car.  The driver, a 34-year-old Renmark man, was arrested and charged with driving while unauthorised, drug offences, possess ammunition and breach of bail.  He was refused police bail and will appear in the Berri Magistrates Court later today, Monday 23 February.

Police also reported two drug drivers in separate incidents:

On 20 February, a 23-year-old Berri woman was stopped on Jellett Road, Berri and on 21 February a 38-year-old Loxton woman was stopped on Third Street, Loxton.  Both tested positive to methamphetamine and were issued with a three-month loss of licence and may be summonsed to appear in court pending forensic analysis.
