Former Australian Sidecar Champion, uniquely as both rider and passenger, Justin Plaisted, with the highly skilled Brian Anthony alongside, took an “all the way” win in the final of the Coomealla Club’s, 49th Mildura Sidecar Spectacular at Mildura’s Olympic Park speedway on Easter Sunday night.
An elated Justin Plaisted and Brian Anthony greeted the Judge with a nice lead over a very impressive Nate Headland / Harry Hearne while dad, Trent Headland / Jaxon Raynor gathered third place ahead of possible pre-race favourites, the FNQ team of Tyler Moon / Adam Lovell.
Patrons had been on the edge of their seats right from the beginning of the night, which saw Moon and Lovell once again take the Exposed Signage & Apparel, Dash for Cash cheque, as they had done at the Victorian Title held just three weeks previously.
Patrons at Olympic Park were keen to see that the standard of the 49th Sidecar Spectacular would be a fair indicator of the standard of the forthcoming RCA CIVIL GROUP 2026 Australian Sidecar Championship to be held at Olympic Park over the ANZAC Weekend.
