Victoria Police are warning that they will be on the roads during harvest, and enforcement action may be taken if offences are identified.

On Saturday the 10th of October 2026, Swan Hill Highway Patrol intercepted a B-double at the intersection of Robinvale – Sea Lake Rd and Cocamba – Miralie Rd, Cocamba.

The truck was carting hay from farm to farm via public roads.

The truck had no restraints on the hay bales making them insecure and one of the trailers was unregistered.

The truck also had numerous other safety issues.

The driver was issued an infringement notice of $836 for the insecure load and $1882 for using an unregistered heavy vehicle trailer.

The driver was warned regarding the other issues identified with the vehicle.

Coming up to Harvest 2026, Victoria Police says it’s a reminder that “just going down the road” is not an excuse for putting the public at risk.
