Sunraysia Residential Services Inc. (SRS) has officially opened its newest purpose-built Short-Term Accommodation (STA) home, DON, setting a new benchmark in accessible accommodation for people with disability in regional Victoria.
Located at 898-900 Fifteenth Street, DON has been specifically designed to provide high-quality short-term accommodation for NDIS participants aged 18 years and over.
The development combines contemporary accessible design with leading Smart Home and sensory technology to promote independence, comfort, accessibility and wellbeing.
DON will provide STA options for up to eight participants across three purpose-built homes and continues the successful partnership between SRS and local builder Garraway Developments.
The development features a range of integrated technologies and sensory experiences designed to enhance everyday living, including voice-activated controls, smart speakers, touchscreen technology, environmental controls, interactive games, motion-activated features, advanced audio-visual experiences, dedicated sensory spaces and an accessible swimming pool with wheelchair access.
DON has been named as recognition and thankyou to long-serving Board member and former President Don Seward, whose leadership, guidance and commitment has helped shape SRS over the past 24 years.
