Wentworth Shire Council is supporting NSW Motorcycle Awareness Month through the month of October.
Via a social media post, council is encouraging riders to ride to the conditions and manage fatigue.
Council says “Road surfaces, visibility, traffic and weather can change during a journey. Riders should remain within the speed limit, maintain a safe following distance and brake early.”
They also say “Before riding, consider how rested you are. Recognise the early signs of tiredness and stop in a safe place when fatigue develops.”
Fatigue-related crashes are almost three times as likely to be fatal as crashes that do not involve fatigue.
Every ride requires attention, regardless of the distance or time of day.
The NSW Government says Motorcycle Awareness Month puts rider safety in the spotlight for all road users.
