MSP Stage 2 officially opens and wins national award

Mildura Rural City Council have welcomed Victorian Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence to officially open Mildura Sporting Precinct’s $13.025 million second stage.

Minister Spence said there was significant value investing in regional facilities that deliver more opportunities for all Victorians to enjoy the sports they love.

“The new Mildura Sporting Precinct is a big boost for Mildura and the region, delivering the world class sport facilities the community deserves,” Ms Spence said.

The minister was joined at the opening by MRCC Mayor Cr Liam Wood.

AFL Victoria was also on hand to announce that Mildura Sporting Precinct has won both the Victorian and National 2023 Ken Gannon Community Facilities Award.

The awards recognise best practice in community football facility development across Australia, along with the people, clubs and other stakeholders driving the best projects.

The Mildura facility was joint national winner with West Australia’s $2,123,000 Baldivis Sports Complex Development.
