Swan Hill Rural City Council says the new Swan Hill Bridge is another step closer.
Consultants AECOM have been appointed to undertake the concept design and environmental assessment for a new Swan Hill Bridge, which is another important step forward for this long-awaited project.
The proposed replacement will be a new two-lane moving span bridge with a wide shared path for pedestrians, cyclists and people with mobility needs.
But council says planning will only get the community so far.
The community now need the investment to turn those plans into a new bridge.
Swan Hill Council says they will keep pushing to see this project funded and delivered for the region.
The Australian Government has committed $60 million to the project, while the NSW Government has committed $7.5 million towards planning and development.
