Economic boost over the long weekend

A big boost for the local economy this weekend with three major events on.

Up to 1400 junior soccer players, along with their support staff and parents, will hit town for a three-day football extravaganza at the Aerodrome Ovals.

The Country Leagues Football Association Country Championships, which is being hosted by Football Federation Sunraysia, will feature girls and boys teams, aged from Under 11 through to Under 18 age groups, from regions including Latrobe Valley, Shepparton, Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, Albury/Wodonga, Gippsland and Warrnambool.

Mildura is also welcoming the Mildura Riverfront Marathon, which will feature events over varying distances, and was sold out weeks ago.

The Matsumura Blues Festival is also on locally tomorrow and Sunday.

Mildura Rural City Council Deputy Mayor Cr Mark Eckel says this bumper King’s Birthday weekend again showcases Mildura as an events destination.
