Wentworth Shire Council is offering free Safe Towing Workshops and professional Vehicle Weighing Sessions to assist local residents in maintaining safe, legally compliant towing setups.
Council says whether you tow a caravan, boat, horse float, or trailer, understanding these factors is essential for road safety and keeping your insurance valid.
Non-compliance can lead to voided insurance policies, heavy fines, and demerit points.
The interactive three-hour Safe Towing Workshop includes a one-hour presentation on towing regulations followed by a practical group vehicle inspection.
A qualified technician will also conduct professional weighing sessions.
You could receive an accurate report on axle weights, tow ball mass, GVM, and GCM and load distribution advice.
