It’s D-Day for the former Coalition with Liberal Leader and Member for Farrer Sussan Ley setting a 9:00am deadline for the Nationals if they’re serious about re-uniting with the Liberal party.
The sticking point appears to be an insistence the three Nationals senators who broke ranks and voted against the hate speech laws, be suspended from the frontbench for six months.
The Nationals have subsequently sent a counteroffer to the Liberal party, though it’s reported some within the Nationals do not believe the offer will be acceptable to the Liberals.
