A paramedic student and CFA volunteer from Pearcedale, near Melbourne, has recently completed a run from Echuca to Mildura to raise money and awareness for Beyond Blue.
Ethan Stewart is not a professional athlete or an experienced endurance runner, just an ordinary young bloke who’s decided to take on an enormous challenge for a cause that affects so many Australian families.
It’s been a huge physical and mental challenge, and he says one of the special things has been the support he’s received from communities along the way.
Local businesses, sporting clubs and everyday people have helped with accommodation, meals, recovery facilities, donations and plenty of encouragement.
Ethan says it’s been fantastic to see regional communities get behind someone who’s putting in such an enormous effort for mental health awareness.
His initial target was to raise $5,000 and as of Monday October 19 the raised amount was posted at $8,100.
