In honour of Friday March 20 being The International Day of Happiness, Mallee Accommodation and Support Program’s (MASP) Foster Care Team will be at Mildura Central from 2:00pm-6:00pm to share information on Foster Care and how becoming a carer can change a child’s life.
“Across the country we have a shortage of Foster Carers – with the Mildura area being no different,” MASP CEO Charmaine Calis said.
“This has a negative impact on children who need care – particularly if it means they need to be removed from their friends, schooling and extended support networks to be placed in care elsewhere. More people becoming Foster Carers locally helps keeps kids in care here and happy.”
MASP’s Foster Care Team will also be handing out pots with Sunflower seeds featuring a QR code sticker that when scanned takes people to MASP’s website section on Foster Care.
There will be an emphasis on happiness, with interactive activities for those who attend.
