Local netball clubs and fans across the region are being urged to get behind a major bid to include the popular sport at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

Netball has been selling out stadiums right around Australia and is a major thread of the social and sporting fabric in many regional and rural towns across the country.

Former Australian Diamonds Captain and Netball Australia Chair, Liz Ellis, is urging locals to sign the online pledge and help make the dream a reality.

“The chance for netball to play in the Olympic Games in 2032 is a real possibility, and we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to come together and make this dream a reality,” Ms Ellis said.

“So far, more than 80,000 people have signed our pledge, which highlights the strong community support for our sport. Every week, in every city, town and suburb across Australia, thousands of people, young and old, come together and take to the netball court. It’s part of our national DNA.”
