Australia Post have released their 2025 Annual Report, again revealing significant salaries and generous bonuses for executives.

The wages bill of Australia Post executives has increased by up to 34 per cent to $7.8 million. Astonishingly, executive short-term bonuses have increased by up to 95 per cent, totalling $6.8 million, despite Australia Post not even meeting half of their $42 million profit before tax target.

During this time Australia Post has scaled back postal services to twice per week, closed post offices, and increased the price of stamps.

Shadow Minister for Communications, Melissa McIntosh said, “we’ve seen job cuts, price increases and reduced mail delivery but eight executives have taken home a whopping $6.8 million in bonuses and that’s on top of their $7.8 million in salaries.”

“This exponential increase in executive pay and bonuses at Australia Post is alarming given its profit before tax is $18.8 million, much less than their $42 million target.

Shadow Minister for Regional Communications, Dr Anne Webster, highlighted the bonuses come as Australians struggle with a cost-of-living crisis.

“Australians will rightly be angered by high executive salaries and another round of juicy bonuses, asking themselves whether they are receiving better service because of it. “These salaries appear to be way out of kilter with what is paid in similar size ASX200 companies.”
