Mildura Rural City Council has declared that tree planting season has officially begun.
From now until August, they will be getting new trees in the ground.
They do the work during the cooler months to help news trees establish strong roots before the hot summer weather hits.

Council says the planting now also lets them take full advantage of winter rainfall, giving trees the best possible start.
They are saying that they still need the community’s help however.
If there’s a newly planted tree near your home, they are asking please lend a hand by giving it some extra water, especially during dry spells.
