Weekend drug drivers detected in the Riverland

Police reported five drivers for drug and alcohol offences in the Murray Mallee region over the weekend including two drug drivers in the Riverland.

About 10.50pm on Saturday 26 July, Loxton Police reported a 50-year-old woman from Renmark West after she was stopped on Bookpurnong Terrace.

She was submitted to a drug test and allegedly returned a positive to methamphetamine and cannabis.

She was issued with a three-month instant loss of licence and may be summoned to Berri magistrates Court at a later date pending results of a forensic analysis.

Police reported a 54-year-old woman from Berri after she was stopped on the Old Sturt Highway at Berri about 6pm on Sunday 27 July.

She allegedly returned a positive result to methamphetamine when submitted to a drug test.

She was issued with a three-month loss of licence and may be summoned to Berri magistrates Court at a later date pending results of a forensic analysis.
