The Murray Darling Basin Authority is confident near full water storages can help meet demand for the rest of the water year.
The authority says active storage was near full last week while unregulated flows have largely met the system demands.
And it says Menindee Lakes can help meet Murray River demands.

In other water news, the Victorian Nationals party wants to hear from residents on how the Federal Government’s water buyback plan will impact local communities.
The buybacks passed the Senate in late November as part of the amended Murray Darling Basin Plan.
Mildura MP Jade Benham along with Nationals colleagues Emma Kealy and Tim McCurdy will be hosting public forums on Thursday in Mildura and Robinvale.
