Victoria Police are agreeing that yes, it’s a great time to go camping, but are asking that residents and visitors make sure their campfire doesn’t become a bushfire.
They say if you’re planning to enjoy some of Victoria’s great outdoors this summer, make sure your campfire is properly extinguished before leaving your campsite.
They are reminding people to always use water, not dirt, to extinguish a campfire, remember, if it is cool to touch, it is safe to leave, and always check restrictions before lighting a fire outdoors this summer.
