Warning of traffic disruptions over the long weekend

Residents are advised to expect increased traffic conditions this June long weekend due to the Wentworth Flood Rally (70 Years on).

The three-day event will see over 100 historical tractors and support vehicles using main and secondary roads in the cross-border region.

On Friday 5 June, the rally will depart Red Cliffs at 9:00am and travel through main and secondary roads between Red Cliffs and Yelta.

The rally will cross the Murray River at Yelta using the Abbotsford Bridge, continuing to the end destination of the Wentworth Showgrounds via the Silver City Highway and secondary roads by 4:00pm.

The Abbotsford Bridge will experience delays throughout this period.

On Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June, expect delays in the Wentworth township and surrounding secondary roads between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm.

Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, exercise patience, and use caution around slow-moving vehicles.

Other temporary delays may occur along the travel routes, including town centres.
