Mildura Rural City Council will move to a single-member ward structure at this year’s local government election.
It’s one of 30 across Victoria to have single councillors for each ward within their municipality, as part of changes announced by the Victorian State Government.
The government says the changes will ensure councils are more reflective of the communities they represent.

The new ward boundaries will be in place for October’s election.
It’s understood there’ll be no changes to the Swan Hill Rural City Council structure at this stage.
