Agriculture Victoria has received 80-thousand dollars in state funding to look at the early detection and management of Varroa Mite.
The disease is still front of mind for many beekeepers as they move hives to Sunraysia for the upcoming almond pollination season.
The department will looked at collecting DNA samples from managed hives to see if they can detect Varroa Mite earlier than traditional methods.
