Two vehicles impounded and drivers to face court

On Sunday (May 24) Mildura Police saw a green Holden Ute driving on driving on Eighth Street with their headlights off.

They pulled the Ute over and found that the driver was double the legal alcohol limit.

It is alleged that the driver, a 31-year-old male from Robinvale, was driving disqualified while under the influence of alcohol.

The vehicle was impounded and the matter will be heard in the Mildura Magistrates Court at a later date.

Earlier in the week, Wednesday (May 20), just before 1:00pm, Swan Hill Police intercepted a vehicle travelling on Woorinen Road near Swan Hill.

The 34-year-old driver was unlicensed and the vehicle he was driving was unsafe.

The driver was arrested for contravening conditions of bail and the vehicle impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1525.

The driver was also interviewed in relation to incidents that occurred earlier in the month.

He was charged with numerous traffic offences including reckless conduct endangering serious injury and dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police.

He was remanded in custody to appear in court at a later date.
