Two people have faced court yesterday, charged following an alleged armed robbery in Broken Hill on the weekend.
About 11.45pm on Sunday, police were called to a home on Chapple Street, Broken Hill, with reports of a man was armed with firearm.
Police were told a man had threatened a resident, a man in his 50s, with knuckle dusters before demanding cash, removing the home’s security cameras, and producing a firearm.
A woman also allegedly threatened the man on the same day.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 32-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man at a Broken Hill address, about 3.50pm Monday (2 March 2026).
Following the arrest, police searched the property locating and seizing knuckle dusters.
Both the woman and man were taken to Broken Hill Police Station, where the woman was charged with assault with intent to rob while armed with dangerous weapon, robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic), and breach of bail.
The man was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon.
Both were refused bail to face Bail Division Court 4 yesterday, where they were both formally refused bail to appear before Broken Hill Local Court on Tuesday 28 April 2026.
Yesterday, police executed a search warrant at a residence on Morgan Street, Broken Hill, where they located and seized further items, including clothing.
