Two arrested after evading police

Two people were arrested after allegedly evading police in Mildura on Tuesday, 14 April.

Officers first spotted an allegedly stolen utility travelling along Tulane Drive about 1:00pm.

Police attempted to intercept the vehicle, before it allegedly mounted the curb and crashed into the brick wall of an entryway at a residence on Walnut Avenue.

No one was injured.

A 24-year-old Dareton man and a 28-year-old Mildura woman were arrested at the scene.

The man has since been charged with theft of motor vehicle, dangerous driving whilst pursued by police, criminal damage and other driving offences.

He is remanded and will next appear before the Mildura Magistrates’ Court on 25 May.

The woman was taken to hospital for observation and has since been released pending further enquiries.

It is understood the utility was stolen from Dareton about 12.45pm.
