Locals who are planning an overseas trip are being warned to have the right travel insurance, especially when it comes to alcohol consumption.
It comes as new research reveals more than 1 in 10 Australians (13%) were not covered by any travel insurance on their most recent overseas trip.
Of those who did have travel insurance, many were unaware or unsure about the policy limits relating to alcohol.
Insurance Council of Australia CEO, Andrew Hall, says it is critical travellers do their homework and understand what they’re covered for.
