NSW Police have taken to social media to provide tips for local firearm owners to ensure guns are stored correctly and they comply with legislation.
The policing organisation says that some things you could do are; ensure the premises where you store your firearms are solid with sturdy lockable doors and windows, ensure your gun safe key is kept on your person, lock ammunition in a container kept separate to the firearms, check your firearms regularly, and do not advertise you have firearms on social media, open discussions in public places or showing your firearms to others.
Some simple measure can make a huge difference.
