Mallee Accommodation and Support Program (MASP) is teaming up with for purpose entrepreneurs and documentary makers 16 Yards to take a deep dive into early intervention strategies for youth crime prevention through the presentation of The Blueprint documentary.
16 Yards is a strengths-based lived experience centred organisation that provides a number of services for young people connected to the justice and out of home care sectors.
The Blueprint is a 70 minute documentary informed and driven by the voices of young people with real, lived experience in the justice system.
Featuring 10 young people from diverse backgrounds, the film offers raw, authentic perspectives on the challenges they’ve faced and the practical steps that helped them move away from offending.
MASP will host a free community screening of the documentary at The Powerhouse from 5.30pm on Wednesday 27 August, followed by a powerful but community-friendly Lived Experience Panel session featuring 16 Yards Co-founders Dr Stephane Shepherd and Shayne Hood along with two former young people with previous justice system contact.
To register for the community screening, go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-blueprint-community-screening-tickets-1520707991539
A further stakeholder screening and panel discussion will be held the day after the community screening.
