Taxi and police car collide

Two drivers have been lucky to avoid serious injury after a police car and taxi crashed in Mildura.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Ninth Street and Deakin Avenue on Thursday evening, after the police was driving to another job with its lights on when it collided with the taxi.

The road was blocked off for about 30 minutes.

Fortunately neither the taxi driver nor the police officers were injured, and no ambulances were need at the scene.

Police have taken the opportunity to remind drivers to give way to police cars and other emergency services vehicles when the lights and sirens are activated.
