Swan Hill Police were involved in Operation TARTANYA over the past weekend which focussed on traffic heading to SA for the AFL’s Gather Round.
While the Footy may have been a success, some of the behaviour on our local roads was the exact opposite.
During the 4-day operation, 46 motorists were intercepted with 32 of those driving away with Penalty Notices for their effort.
Amongst them were 6 drivers issued with $247 fines for 108km/h in a 100km/h zone and 3 drivers losing their licence for excessive speed.
Police are urging local residents to be patient, alert and drive to the conditions during football season in the Swan Hill / Buloke & Gannawarra regions.
