Support Alannah & Madeline Day today

Today is Alannah & Madeline Day with Sunraysia and Mallee locals being urged to help raise funds and support children fleeing violence.

Children escaping violence are scared, they feel alone, and they’re traumatised.

Children who get the care they need to process trauma from violence have better health outcomes, fewer mental health challenges, and are more likely to fulfil their potential in life.

The Alannah and Madeline Foundation says that care starts with a Buddy Bag, which is often the first thing they receive when they get to safety.

A Buddy Bag is a backpack packed with a teddy bear for comfort, a set of PJs, essential toiletries and more.

The foundation is asking the community to join thousands of others uniting to raise $400,000 for the 1 in 2 children who miss out on a Buddy Bag, and today only, donations will be doubled.
