A new initiative to help cancer patients across the region, while also providing an income stream, is being launched.
Sunraysia Cancer Resources will open The Purple Patch in Dareton next week.
The shop, a new and pre-loved clothing and homeware store, will open on August 1st, at 36 Tapio Street in Dareton, across from the IGA supermarket, with initial operating hours of 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Wednesday to Friday and 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on the first Saturday of every month.
Hours will be extended as the volunteer pool increases.
Chair of Sunraysia Cancer Resources, Ms. Jenny Gledhill, says that the Organisation is not eligible for any government funding and to continue supporting people living with cancer, and their families, they must generate their own funds.
Donations can be dropped off to the shop during opening hours. Items must be clean and in good condition.
The Purple Patch cannot accept electrical items unless they are new and still in the original box.
