Mildura and Swan Hill police are taking part in a state-wide operation that’s being held over the long weekend.
Operation Arid got underway at midnight and will run until Monday night.
Acting Sergeant Jamie Davidson is urging local drivers to be patient and plan their journey if they’re heading away.

Operation Arid has a major focus on music festivals taking place over the weekend, and alcohol and drug testing vehicles will be at these events, but locally police will be targeting several offenses.
