Victoria’s sobering-up centres are hardly being used, with new data showing they’re seeing less than three people each night in Melbourne.
Not all the promised ten sites have opened, with regional facilities including Mildura and Swan Hill yet to have any word on when they’ll be operating.
The eighty-million-dollar program was introduced late 2023, when the government controversially de-criminalised public drunkenness.
The opposition says the 80-million-dollar cost would be better spent reducing rehab waiting lists.
Sites were also promised for Bendigo and Ballarat.
