Swan Hill Rural City Council has taken to social media to alert the community that there is support available for farmers facing prolonged drought.
The local government organisation says drought is becoming more challenging and long-lasting for many farm businesses.
Council says the Australian Government has introduced the RIC Drought Hardship Loan to provide financial relief for farmers experiencing severe and prolonged drought, and some of the benefits include:
Up to $250,000
Concessional variable interest rate (currently 5.18%)
Five-year loan term

Helps cover essential operating costs
