Several drivers caught drink and drug driving in the Riverland

Seven drivers have been caught for drink and drug driving across the Riverland over the weekend including:

At 2:15am, Friday 1 March, Berri Police stopped a white Skoda sedan on Cooper Street at Berri. The driver, a 29-year-old man from Victor Harbor, submitted to a drug test and returned a positive result. Pending forensic analysis, he may be reported for drug driving offences. He received a three-month instant loss of licence notification.

About 9.55pm, Saturday 2 March, Loxton Police stopped a Nissan Patrol on Anderson Road at Loxton. The driver, a 49 year old man from Loxton North submitted to a breath test and returned a positive result of 0.119. He received a six-month instant loss of licence notice and had his vehicle impounded for 28 days. He will receive a summons to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

About 5:30am, Saturday 2 March, Berri Police stopped a Toyota Corolla sedan on Warrego Street at Renmark North. The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Renmark North, submitted to a breath test returning a positive result of 0.119. He received a six-month instant loss of licence notice and had his vehicle impounded for 28 days. He will receive a summons to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

And at 7:40pm, Sunday 3 March, Highway patrols stopped a truck on the Sturt Highway at Waikerie. The driver, a 54-year -old man from Queensland submitted to a drug test and returned a positive result. He may receive a summons to appear in Berri Magistrates court at a later date pending forensic analysis. He received a three-month instant loss of licence notification.
