The Department of Transport and Planning has confirmed safety improvements at the intersection of Calder Highway and Karadoc Avenue, Irymple.
The safety upgrade will feature a fully controlled right turn, ensuring that pedestrians have a separate crossing phase.
This important change eliminates potential conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians, significantly improving safety for all road users.
In addition to the signal upgrades, minor civil works will also be carried out to enhance the overall infrastructure at the intersection.
Member for Mildura Jade Benham says “The safety of our community is a top priority, and I’m pleased to see this crucial project moving forward.”
“This upgrade will make a real difference for the people of Irymple and those who travel through this busy area daily.”
The next step in the project is the procurement process, where contractors will be appointed to carry out the works.
Ms Benham has also extended her gratitude to Irymple Secondary College community and other concerned residents for raising these important issues.
