Mildura Airport has established a new rule, making it mandatory for all planes to make rolling calls just before take-off, following a near miss at the local facility.
A private light plane and commercial Dash8 almost collided when both took off from intersecting runways at the same time in June last year.
An Australian Transport Safety Bureau report found the pilots had incorrect mental models of local traffic at the time.
