Local MP Jade Benham has renewed her calls for traffic lights to be installed at a dangerous local intersection.

She’s raised the matter in parliament twice in several weeks for the need for funding for the corner of Sixteenth Street and Deakin Avenue.

The Member for Mildura has also taken Shadow Roads Minister Danny O’Brien to inspect the intersection of Fourteenth Street and Benetook Avenue, talking about the heavy vehicle bypass.

She says there are many logistics companies in the region that are running road trains.

Meanwhile, Mildura Rural City Council has received Victorian Government funding to improve road safety for vulnerable users.

Thirty-thousand dollars will go towards the Red Cliffs walking and cycling plan, under the TAC Local Government Grant Program.

The Transport Accident Commission says the program is about improving road safety for vulnerable road users, with a focus on reducing crashes involving pedestrians and cyclists.
