Riverland Traffic Report

Police have detected six drivers committing traffic offences in the Murray Mallee including four in the Riverland.

On Saturday 24 February, Berri Police detected a 61-year-old man from Renmark travelling at 70km/h in a 60km/h zone. Checks revealed that he was disqualified from driving. He was reported for driving whilst being disqualified and will appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Saturday 24 February, Waikerie Police stopped a 38-year-old man from Paisley for a random breath test. It will be that the man provided a positive result of 0.084. He received a 6 month instant loss of licence and will appear in Berri Magistrates Court.

On Saturday 24 February, Berri Police stopped a car on Renmark Avenue for a random driver test. Checks revealed the driver, an 18-year-old, held a learners permit. He submitted to a breath test where he provided a positive result of 0.065.  It will be alleged that he was driving with three other people in the car and no qualified supervising driver. He will be summonsed to appear before Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

And on Sunday 25 February, Berri Police will be alleged that a 45-year-old man from Berri was driving a motor vehicle at Barmera when he was stopped for the purpose of a random breath test. He returned a positive result of 0.094. The man was issued with a six month instant loss of licence and had his vehicle impounded for 28 days. He will be summoned at a later date to appear in Berri Magistrates Court.
