Riverland Police weekend traffic report

Police in the Murraylands have been busy on the roads last weekend, with at least four drivers to attend court over various traffic offences including a Renmark man at Gurra Gurra.

About 2.20am on Saturday 15 June, police stopped a car on Gurra Road, Gurra Gurra and the driver, a 26-year-old man from Renmark underwent a breath test and returned a positive result of 0.166. Further checks showed the man was disqualified from driving, and he was using the motor vehicle without permission of the owner. He was reported for illegal use of a motor vehicle, drink-driving and driving while disqualified. He received a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

Also, between Friday the 15th of June and Monday the 17th of June, police reported six people who were driving with illegal drugs in their system. One driver was also reported for driving while disqualified. They will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date, while all six people received a three-month immediate loss of licence notice and may also be summonsed to appear in court.
