Rex Airlines could soon have a new owner, with a New York based distressed debt specialist emerging as a possible contender.
Anchorage Capital has reportedly expressed an interest in the carrier after it went into voluntary administration last year.
The Federal Government pledged 80 million dollars to support its operations in November.

A report by the ACCC showed prices went up 13 per cent in the three months after Rex’s exit from metropolitan flights, due to less competition in the marketplace.
