Revised plans for Deakin Avenue

Mildura councillors will meet this week, expected to vote on a proposed revised design plan for Deakin Avenue’s median redevelopment.

The updated plan focuses on the area between Seventh and Eighth Streets.

A report to the city says its part of the Deakin Avenue masterplan, aimed at maintaining the significance and character of the streets, and protect existing memorials and statues.

The project’s expected to cost more than one-point-nine million dollars and building a new footpath and replacing existing trees and putting in street furniture.
