Lower Murray Water (LMW) has commenced works to upgrade the Red Cliffs urban water supply network.

At the centre of the $10 million upgrade is the construction of a new pump station on Woomera Avenue in Red Cliffs which will pressurise the entire system.

The project also includes approximately 4.4 kilometres of new water mains, upgraded switchboards and back-up power systems to improve resilience and meet future demand.

The project has been designed by engineering firm CMP Consulting Group with local company Makar Group appointed as principal contractor.

Makar is being supported by RDG Electrical and Bigfoot Civil, bringing strong local expertise and experience to the delivery of the works.

Servicing approximately 1,700 properties, the upgraded system will improve water pressure, strengthen reliability and increase capacity to support the future needs of the Red Cliffs community.

The Red Cliffs Pressure Upgrade is the largest project in LMW’s current five-year capital plan which commits more than $120 million to approximately 150 infrastructure projects across its service region.

The upgraded Red Cliffs system is expected to be commissioned by September 2026.
