Powercor is using helicopters to see how close tree branches are to powerlines.
It’s holding the aerial surveillance across Mildura and Swan Hill areas over the next few weeks.
Locals are being told they may see or hear the choppers, which will be around 300 metres off the ground, as part of the Bushfire Mitigation and Vegetation Management Program.

Powercor says it allows the company to determine what vegetation needs to be cut.
Last year the company reports it had teams cut more than half a million trees and shrubs growing near powerlines.
