Since Monday there have been calls to have former Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews Companion of the Order of Australia Award revoked.
Member for Mildura Jade Benham says that she has had many people contact the office regarding Daniel Andrews King’s Birthday Award.
The local MP says “Those locally who were awarded, were awarded for their unpaid community work, volunteering and significant contribution to our community, and we are incredibly proud, but for the former Premier to get recognition for doing his job…. Badly, has upset many people.”
There is a petition available to sign on The Nationals website.
The petition says it draws to the attention of the Governor General the inappropriate and unjustified decision to award former Premier Daniel Andrews a Companion of the Order of Australia.
