Operation Convoy

Between Wednesday 9 September 2026 and Tuesday 15 September 2026, Barrier Police District officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, conducted a joint interstate heavy vehicle compliance operation under Operation Convoy.

Police worked in collaboration with South Australia Police Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section, conducting heavy vehicle compliance checks relating to fatigue, vehicle standards, and drug/alcohol testing.

During the deployment, police conducted 203 heavy vehicle inspections, 261 roadside breath test, 215 roadside drug tests, 52 fatigue breaches and other heavy vehicle inspections.

Police charged 42 drivers for heavy vehicle offences, issued 15 defect notices and grounded two vehicles.
