David Farley, Member for Farrer, has been quick to reassured constituents of Farrer that existing programs around agriculture, agribusiness and working holiday makers are unchanged amid plans to slash immigration.
One Nation has unveiled a plan to slash immigration by 750,000 places over three years, with major cuts targeting international students and the families of skilled migrants.
“From my preselection interview with One Nation and immediately post the byelection win, One Nation and I have been educating, negotiating and formulating immigration policy optimal for agriculture and agribusiness,” Mr Farley said.
“My campaign commitment to the Farrer constituency was and is to return productivity and capacity to the electorate, which is not compromised by One Nation’s policy statement.”
Existing programs around agriculture, agribusiness and working holiday makers are unchanged.
“In accordance with our policy, constituents will be comforted that agriculture and agribusiness immigration policy is demand based and not capped.”
