Nurses have voted to apply for protected industrial action.
Members of the Nursing and Midwifery Federation met in Mildura yesterday, one of several meetings held around the state, to hear about the progress of their EBA negotiations.
The union says nurses and midwives are being forced to become casuals to manage their rosters.

The current EBA runs out at the end of April.
