Mildura Rural City Council is exploring opportunities for a new event on the region’s annual calendar following a decision not to go ahead with the 2024 Mildura Wentworth Music Festival.
Mildura Entertainment indicated the level of funding Council was able to commit to the existing festival model in light of the large number of well-established events on the national calendar made it difficult to compete.
Mildura Mayor Liam Wood has thanked Mildura Entertainment owner David Storer for developing and running the festival for the past two years.
Mr Storer thanked Council for the opportunity over the last couple of years.
The Mayor said Council will now explore opportunities to develop a new event as well as welcoming proposals from professional event organisers for potential events that drive visitation and promote economic benefits into our region.
