The blocking of the Federal Government’s biosecurity levy in the senate is a win for Mallee producers according to the Nationals.
The Nationals say biosecurity protection levy will not get the support it needs in the Senate, which was due to come into play from the start of the month.
Nationals’ leader David Littleproud says Labor’s fresh food tax would have hurt families at the checkout as well as 84 agricultural commodities which faced taxes to raise 150 dollars million over three years.
There’s now more calls from the Nationals for the bill to be scrapped all together.
